About this Role

Harlington School is a welcoming and inclusive secondary school located in the heart of the United Kingdom. We are committed to providing a supportive learning environment where every student can thrive. We are currently seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join our team, working across cross-curricular topics to support students with special educational needs and disabilities.

Harlington School is delighted to have opened a brand-new Designated Unit in September 2023, which has provided a full-time holistic provision for 15 young people aged 11 – 16, with and alongside our existing provision. The School is seeking an individual who is passionate about working with young people with Autism, and is excited to support and teach an integrated educational and therapeutic provision for our new students. You will have KS2 or secondary SEN experience, and be competent to develop and deliver a multi - sensory learning experience based upon individual Education Health and Care Plan language and communication requirements. You’ll have the benefit of a fully planned curriculum from our mainstream school to differentiate. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like further information about our new unit.

Skills and Qualifications:
- A passion for supporting students with special educational needs
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Patience, empathy, and understanding towards diverse learning abilities
- Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one

Values and Attitudes:
- Commitment to inclusion and equality in education
- Positive attitude towards continuous professional development
- Collaborative approach within a multidisciplinary team
- Dedication to creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students

If you are enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs, we would love to hear from you. Join us at Harlington School where your contribution will be valued as part of our supportive community.
