About this Role

Students and staff at Shaftesbury High School demonstrate a shared pride in their school: consistency of practise and approach has ensured that everyone works as a team to deliver strong outcomes for students.

Shaftesbury High School is looking to appoint a Science Lead teacher as soon as possible.

We are looking to recruit a Science Lead teacher who will provide learning that will make a lasting change for our students. This post will be ideal for a Secondary SEND teacher, a science teacher or an Upper Primary Teacher who would like to work in a secondary setting. We are looking to recruit a colleague who is a team player and at the same time operates with initiative in the school’s intent.

Science is a popular subject. The Science Curriculum is ambitious, well planned, and places student learning at its heart. The Science lead teacher is an important position at Shaftesbury High School. The Science Lead ensures that students at Shaftesbury receive a well-constructed, progression based education with clear end goals for each level.

At Shaftesbury we recognise that academic success for our students is a combination of high quality SEND teaching, a well-designed curriculum, and meeting the student’s pastoral needs.

Becoming part of the Shaftesbury team is a fantastic opportunity for a Subject Lead teacher who wants to work in a culture that has high expectations for students with SEND.

Understanding the importance of work/ life balance and wellbeing is at the heart of our leadership and our learning.

We view professional development as an important part of ensuring our students have the best possible academic and personal experiences whilst at Shaftesbury.

Our students deserve the best the teaching profession has to offer. I look forward to hearing from you.

Shaftesbury High School is committed to safeguarding, inclusive practice and equal opportunities for all. All job offers will be subject to a social media check, successful enhanced DBS checks and reference checks.

Previous experience within a special needs setting is desirable but not essential. Visits during the school day are actively encouraged. The candidates must have Qualified Teacher Status.
