About this Role

The Governors of St Teresa’s are seeking to appoint an inspirational, dedicated and visionary Assistant Headteacher with the responsibility of leading Early Years Foundation Stage. The successful candidate will be highly effective, dedicated and creative, with the highest expectations of standards and behaviour. They will be able to motivate pupils and staff to reach their full potential. The successful candidate will also hold responsibility for teaching a class or group dependent on the needs of the school. 

The successful candidate will be a practising Catholic or willing to support the strong Catholic ethos of our school, as well as an outstanding teacher, who has the ability to play a key role in assisting the Headteacher to ensure that the EYFS maintains its high standards while fully implementing a broad and challenging curriculum.

We are looking for someone who:

     Is a practising Catholic or willing to support the strong Catholic ethos of our school.

     Shares the vision and values of the Governors and Senior Leadership Team of the school.

     Has a clear vision for EYFS provision and has a clear proposal of how to develop this.

     Is an outstanding practitioner committed to creating challenge, excitement, creativity and independence in learning.

  • Is an innovative, creative and enthusiastic leader with a proven record of excellent primary practice.
  • Has the ability to celebrate and develop the learning of our diverse community and maintain our outstanding commitment to inclusion.
  • Is a leader with the ability to raise attainment, progress and engagement across the school, especially for our most vulnerable learners.
  • Has experience of successfully leading an aspect of teaching and learning.
  • Has the ability to manage and support pupils' behaviour positively and effectively in line with our behaviour policy and school ethos and has your own approaches based on research and practice.
  • Has the ability to facilitate, foster and nurture good communication within our school  community and beyond. 
  • Has a strong commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Has a desire to work in a great school, supporting the long-term vision of the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.
