An exciting opportunity to be part of an evolving Alternative Provision – FINCH part of Fortismere school. We are looking for a teaching assistant who is flexible, creative and adaptable with a passion for changing lives through education. Finch is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, student-centered individual to provide learning support & behaviour management to students within our provision as required.
About You:
You will be experienced in providing support in an educational setting, as a Teaching Assistant. You will support students to access their curriculum and other provision services. You may be asked to work with individuals in mentoring or behaviour sessions and within the classroom, helping with tasks such as basic literacy and maths, and social interaction.
The successful candidate will have a passion to support a range of students with varied needs, e.g., students with ADHD, tourettes, emotionally based school avoidance, anxiety, medical conditions, etc.
The successful candidate will have the ability to:
Support students with a range of needs within lessons, interventions
Build positive and supportive relationships with students while promoting confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals
Support the delivery of small-group and 1:1 interventions under the guidance Finch Lead Teacher
Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring student progress and support plans
Work flexibly and use initiative within a busy and dynamic school environment
Contribute positively to the inclusive ethos and wider life of the school
