About this Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the history department in our friendly, dynamic and outstanding Catholic school. We value our staff and want to develop them to the full in a supportive environment. We are looking for a candidate who has a deep passion for History, is forward thinking, innovative, has strong subject knowledge and is committed to excellence. The History department is a highly successfulcohesive and effective team who work collaboratively to ensure that our students make excellent progress and enjoy the subject. The department have led the way in T&L and developing the knowledge rich curriculum at KS3. History is the most popular GCSE option and, year on year, outcomes are excellent and significantly higher than national standards, testament to teachers’ commitment and passion and the students’ enjoyment of the subject. Progress is strong at A Level as demonstrated by L3VA score of 0.33 in 2025, and exceptionally so at GCSE with a Progress 8 score of 0.85 in 2024 and 76% of students achieving grades 4-9 in 2025.
