About this Role

Winchmore School is seeking to appoint a compassionate, strategic, and highly organised Student Wellbeing Lead. In this vital role, you will lead and coordinate a whole-school approach to student mental health, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.

Working directly alongside the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, our Child Protection Officer, and the School Counsellor, you will ensure our most vulnerable students receive rapid, targeted, and evidence-based support. We welcome applications from experienced practitioners looking to lead a dedicated team of Wellbeing Mentors and make a systemic impact on school culture

Key Responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Line manage, supervise, and develop a team of Wellbeing Mentors, ensuring high standards of case management and recorded practice.

  • Oversee the delivery, quality, and impact of school-wide wellbeing provision, establishing clear internal support pathways and referral tracking.

  • Utilise current research and government recommendations to execute impactful initiatives.

  • Deliver one-to-one coaching, facilitate student workshops (covering stress reduction, mindfulness, resilience, and social skills), and provide practical resources for parents/carers.

  • Train and equip school staff to confidently support student mental health and contribute to an inclusive, safeguarding-first environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience in delivering mental health or wellbeing interventions within an educational or youth-work setting.

  • Strong leadership qualities, with experience (or clear capacity) to line manage and coach a team.

  • Excellent collaborative skills, with the ability to maintain strong partnerships between pastoral staff, families, and external healthcare agencies.

  • An absolute commitment to safeguarding compliance and equal opportunities.

Winchmore School and the London Borough of Enfield are strictly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will undergo an enhanced DBS check.
