About the role
Working alongside the Early Years Stronger Practice Hub team, you will:
1. provide bespoke coaching and mentoring to early years settings
2. build strong professional relationships with leaders and practitioners
3. model outstanding early years practice
4. support settings to embed evidence-informed approaches
5. improve outcomes for children, particularly those experiencing disadvantage, SEND and EAL
6. contribute to the Government’s Best Start in Life ambitions
7. become part of a growing network of highly skilled advisers across London.
We’re looking for practitioners who:
· Have at least three years experience as a childminder or in a childminder setting and currently working in an early years setting that is Ofsted rated ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ (or expected standard and above in all areas under the new Ofsted Inspection framework) and include working with children across the age range of 0-4. This should include some leadership experience. Ideally you will be working in a childminder setting but we will accept applications from those currently working in a group-based setting if the person holds recent childminder experience.
· We will also accept applications from staff currently working in early years roles within Local Authorities (LAs).
· have leadership experience within early years
· have experience of coaching, mentoring or supporting colleagues
· have excellent knowledge of child development and the EYFS
· are passionate about improving outcomes for all children
· have the support of their current employer to undertake the role.

Time commitment
The adviser role is undertaken through day-rate release from your current setting.
Successful applicants will:
· attend mandatory training between September and December 2026
· begin supporting settings from January 2027
· commit to approximately 14 funded days per school term, including planning, coaching visits and hub development work
· travel across the Early Years Stronger Practice Hub area as required.
