The department employs a range of dynamic learning styles and is committed to innovative and creative curriculum development. To support this, we offer a strong and varied CPD programme, both at a whole school and  department level, to ensure that our teachers are continually developing.  We are a popular and successful department at A Level, offering both English Literature and English Language, and Creative Writing EPQ.

The English Department was also nominated for the Bernice McCabe Award in 2024 as a result of our continued commitment to developing a high quality, knowledge-rich and challenging English Curriculum at Tallis.

  •        can demonstrate excellent teaching and classroom management skills
  •        has the ability to build good relationships with all students and adults

We can offer you:

  • an excellent physical environment with state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure
  • a school with humane management principles committed to your professional development
  • an opportunity to take on additional responsibilities within the department for suitable candidates.
