About George Spencer Academy
A very warm welcome to George Spencer Academy. We are an ethos driven school with a set of Core Values that form our common language and unite our community. The culture of the academy sees these values and our motto of ‘Ethos of Excellence’ being at the heart of all we do. Our staff have a shared goal of ensuring every child who attends our school is the best version of themselves and will be head and shoulders above every other candidate when they enter the world of work. We do this through providing ambitious life chances. We look to appoint people with the same values as us who hold a strong belief in building great opportunities for children to thrive.
George Spencer Academy is an 11 to 18 secondary school and Sixth Form which caters for its local community. As such there is a strong connection to the community, including all our students engaging in local charity and community work which can be seen on our official Facebook page. The academy itself is located on the A52 with easy access to the M1 making it an ideal location of commuting via car or public transport.
We have a strong sense of belonging at our academy for both staff and students. We believe in catering for well-being and mental health needs to ensure every member of the school community can thrive. For students this means a Well-Being Hub with specialist trained key workers and for staff it includes working hours which compliment a quality work life balance, a fully fitted gym on site for free use before and after school hours, and a strong leadership focus on looking after and supporting all employees to be successful.
