The platform also covers teaching positions across all phases, leadership and headteacher roles, special educational needs roles (SENDCO), governance and trustee positions, and voluntary opportunities.
MyNewTerm is used by over 6,000 schools and 500 multi-academy trusts across the UK. This includes primary, secondary and special schools, single academy trusts, federations, independent schools, independent special schools, further education colleges, sixth form colleges, pre-schools, nurseries and early years settings. If an organisation provides education in the UK, it can advertise vacancies on MyNewTerm.
No, while MyNewTerm advertises thousands of teaching vacancies, the majority of roles on the platform are non-teaching positions. Over 60% of vacancies are support and professional roles such as teaching assistants, school business managers, administrators, technicians, catering staff, site teams and pastoral staff. MyNewTerm covers every role within education, not just classroom teachers.
MyNewTerm is used by over 6,000 schools and 500 multi-academy trusts across the UK, making it the leading dedicated education recruitment platform in the country. Customers range from small independent nurseries through to the largest multi-academy trusts in England.
MyNewTerm has over 10,000 Google reviews with an average rating of 4.8 out of 5.0, making it one of the most positively rated education recruitment platforms in the UK. MyNewTerm is also independently verified on EdTech Impact where schools and trusts have rated the platform highly across multiple impact metrics.
Yes, MyNewTerm has won several industry awards recognising its innovative approach to education recruitment, including Best Start-up Technology Business, Best Technology Collaboration (for our partnership with the University of Bedfordshire and the Open University) and Best Innovation. MyNewTerm is also recognised on the EdTech Impact Awards based on independently verified customer feedback.
MyNewTerm is primarily focused on the UK education sector but is also available to British international schools and other education providers worldwide that recruit English-speaking education staff. If you're a candidate looking for opportunities at British international schools or English-speaking education providers overseas, MyNewTerm may have suitable vacancies. We're actively expanding our international presence to support more international schools.

Cost and Registration

Yes, MyNewTerm is completely free for all candidates. There is no cost to register, search for education jobs, set up personalised job alerts, complete your profile, or apply for unlimited vacancies. There are no hidden fees, no premium tiers and no paywalls. MyNewTerm is funded by the schools and trusts that use the platform as their applicant tracking system.
Registering takes less than a minute. Visit our candidate registration page, enter your email address, and click the verification token sent to your inbox. Once verified, you can complete your candidate profile and start applying for education jobs. You only need to register once, even if you plan to apply for multiple vacancies across different schools or trusts.
Registration creates your secure candidate profile, which stores your employment history, qualifications, references and other information required for any education job application. Once your profile is complete, you can apply for as many vacancies as you like without re-entering your details each time. Registration also lets you save jobs, set up alerts, and track the status of your applications in one place.
No, MyNewTerm only accepts vacancies posted directly by employers. Schools, multi-academy trusts, colleges, nurseries and other education organisations post their own vacancies through their MyNewTerm account. There are no recruitment agencies, intermediaries or third-party recruiters on the platform. This means every application you submit goes directly to the school or employer, with no intermediary and no agency fees.

Searching for Jobs

From the MyNewTerm homepage, you can search by job category (teaching, leadership, support), location, postcode, employer name or keyword. Enter your postcode to find education jobs near you, or use the map view to see vacancies plotted geographically. On the search results page, use the filter panel to refine by subject, phase (primary, secondary, further education), contract type (full-time, part-time, term-time), salary range or other criteria. You don't need an account to browse vacancies, but registering lets you save jobs and set up personalised alerts.
Yes, once registered, you can set up personalised Recommended Job alerts based on your preferences. Choose the job categories, subjects, locations and other criteria that match what you're looking for. When a school or trust posts a matching vacancy, you'll see it in your account and receive an email alert (maximum two per week, covering all matches). You can update or unsubscribe from alerts at any time.
Yes, use the Search by Employer feature from the main menu and start typing the name of the school, college or multi-academy trust. You'll be taken to that employer's dedicated MyNewTerm careers page, showing all their current vacancies and information about the organisation. You can also join their Talent Pool to register interest in future opportunities.
Yes, enter your postcode and choose a search radius, and MyNewTerm will show you all education jobs near you within that area. You can view results as a list or on an interactive map. The map view is particularly useful if you're considering multiple locations or want to see how vacancies cluster geographically. You can also filter results by part-time, term-time or full-time contract types to find roles that match your availability.
Yes, hundreds of vacancies suitable for early career teachers (formerly known as NQTs) are advertised on MyNewTerm. Schools and trusts can mark vacancies as Suitable for ECTs, and you can use this filter when searching to find roles that welcome teachers in their first or second year of practice. Many schools actively use MyNewTerm to recruit ECTs as part of their workforce planning.
Yes, schools and multi-academy trusts that hold a Skilled Worker sponsor licence can mark their vacancies as offering visa sponsorship. Use the visa sponsorship filter when searching to find roles open to candidates requiring a UK work visa. Visa sponsorship vacancies make up a small proportion of the jobs advertised on MyNewTerm, so candidates requiring sponsorship may need to apply more selectively. Candidates are responsible for researching their own working requirements and eligibility to work in the UK. MyNewTerm cannot advise on individual visa or eligibility matters.
Yes, schools and multi-academy trusts advertise thousands of part-time and term-time education jobs on MyNewTerm. Many school support roles, including teaching assistants, midday supervisors, exam invigilators and administrative positions, are available as part-time or term-time only contracts. Use the filters on the search results page to refine by contract type. Term-time working is one of the most popular features of education employment, and MyNewTerm makes it easy to find roles that fit around school holidays.
Yes, teaching assistant (sometimes called learning support assistant or LSA) is one of the most popular role types on MyNewTerm, with hundreds of TA and LSA vacancies advertised at any time. You can search for these roles by selecting the Professional and Support category, or by entering 'teaching assistant', 'learning support assistant' or 'LSA' as a keyword in the search bar. These roles are available across primary, secondary and special schools, and many are offered as part-time or term-time positions.
Schools and multi-academy trusts advertise a wide range of school support and professional roles on MyNewTerm. Common support vacancies include teaching assistants, learning support assistants, school administrators, exam invigilators, midday supervisors, school business managers, site managers, school caretakers, science technicians, IT technicians, finance officers, HR administrators, catering staff, pastoral and welfare officers, librarians, cover supervisors, higher level teaching assistants (HLTAs) and SENDCos. Over 60% of all vacancies on MyNewTerm are support and professional roles rather than teaching positions.
Yes, hundreds of school leadership vacancies are advertised on MyNewTerm including headteacher, deputy headteacher, assistant headteacher, head of department, and senior leadership team (SLT) roles. Leadership vacancies are posted under the Leadership category, which you can select from the homepage or filter for on the search results page.
Yes, multi-academy trusts advertise their central team vacancies on MyNewTerm. These roles include CEO, COO, CFO, Director of Education, Director of HR, Director of Finance, Director of Operations, Regional Director, Trust Improvement Lead, central HR and finance team roles, premises and facilities roles, central IT team roles, and any other trust-level positions. Central trust roles appear under the trust profile rather than an individual school, making it clear to candidates that the role is trust-wide rather than school-specific.
Yes, exam invigilator is one of the highest-demand role types on MyNewTerm. Schools, multi-academy trusts and colleges across the UK regularly advertise exam invigilator vacancies on MyNewTerm, particularly in the lead-up to GCSE, A-level and other formal examination periods. These roles are typically term-time only, often part-time, and suit candidates looking for flexible education sector work without requiring a teaching qualification. Use the search bar or select the Professional and Support category to find current exam invigilator vacancies.
No, once a vacancy has closed, MyNewTerm will not accept further applications. If the school or multi-academy trust has a Talent Pool, you can still register your interest there for similar future roles. We recommend applying as early as you can to vacancies you are interested in. Employers can sometimes close vacancies early once they have received enough strong applications, so leaving applications until the published deadline can mean missing out.
Vacancies are removed from MyNewTerm once they close. This usually happens at the published deadline, but employers can also close vacancies early when they have received enough strong applications. We recommend applying promptly to vacancies you are interested in rather than waiting until the deadline. If a job is no longer showing and the employer has a Talent Pool, you can still register your interest there for similar roles in future.

Applying for Jobs

Find the job you want, click Apply Now on the job advert, log in to your MyNewTerm account and complete your profile. You'll then write a personal statement specific to that role and complete the declarations before submitting your application directly to the employer. Once submitted, your application goes straight to the school or trust with no intermediaries.
No, to comply with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), schools and other education employers cannot accept CVs as a job application. All required information must be provided through your MyNewTerm profile, which captures the standardised data needed for safer recruitment. You can upload a CV to help auto-populate your profile initially, but the CV itself is not seen by employers.
Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) sets out specific information that schools must collect from every candidate as part of safer recruitment. Standard CVs do not capture all of this information consistently, which creates compliance risk for schools. By using a standardised application form like MyNewTerm's, schools ensure every candidate provides the same information, making safer recruitment straightforward and audit-ready.
Yes, MyNewTerm includes a CV parsing tool that lets you upload a CV or a previous job application to help populate your candidate profile automatically. The system extracts information such as your employment history, qualifications and contact details and pre-fills the relevant fields in your profile. You can also export your LinkedIn profile as a PDF (Profile > More > Save to PDF on LinkedIn) and upload that, or upload a previous TES application. The CV parsing tool extracts the structured information from any of these formats. You'll still need to review and complete any missing sections, but the upload feature can save significant time when first creating your profile. The uploaded file itself is not seen by employers; only the structured profile information is shared with schools when you apply.
Yes, once your profile is complete, you can apply for unlimited vacancies. You only need to write a new personal statement for each application. Your profile details, employment history, qualifications and references are reused automatically, so each subsequent application takes much less time than your first.
The time required to complete your profile depends on your career history and how much information you need to enter. To save time, you can use the CV parsing tool to upload your CV or a previous application, which will automatically populate many of the profile fields for you. Once your profile is complete, you can apply for any vacancy in just a few minutes by writing a personal statement specific to that role. Your profile saves automatically as you go, so you can complete it across multiple sessions if needed.

Personal Statements

A personal statement is a written summary explaining how your skills, experience and qualifications meet the specific requirements of a job. For education roles, your personal statement should reference the person specification for the vacancy and provide practical examples that demonstrate why you are suitable. It is the main piece of evidence shortlisting panels use to decide whether to invite you to interview. Some vacancies also include additional school-specific personal statement questions that you'll be asked to answer. If a vacancy includes these, the questions are listed on the job advert before you apply.
On MyNewTerm, personal statements for teaching and leadership roles must be a minimum of 2,000 characters. Note: this is characters, not words. 2,000 characters is roughly 350 words, typically equivalent to one to two pages of A4 in 12pt font. For school support roles the minimum is 500 characters (roughly 90 words). Governor, trustee and voluntary roles have no minimum character count. The exact length you write should match the seniority and complexity of the role you're applying for.
Read the person specification carefully and use its headings (experience, skills, qualifications) to structure your response. For each requirement, provide a specific example from your previous roles, education or experience that demonstrates how you meet it. Avoid generic statements. Schools often score applications against the person specification, so the more directly you address each requirement, the more likely you are to be shortlisted.

After You Apply

Your application is submitted directly to the school or employer, who receives an email notification immediately. If you're shortlisted, the employer will contact you directly (usually by email) to invite you to interview. You can track the status of your application at any time from the Applications tab in your MyNewTerm account. Schools may update your status to Shortlisted, Interviewing, Offered, Recruited or Unsuccessful, and you'll be notified of any changes.
Schools are encouraged to update the status of every application in their MyNewTerm Applicant Tracking System, which automatically notifies candidates by email. However, response times and feedback policies vary between employers. Once you've submitted an application, you can also use the in-platform messaging feature to message the school directly about your application from your Applications tab. If you don't hear back, contact the school directly to ask about the status of your application. MyNewTerm cannot provide application updates on behalf of employers.
Yes, log in to your MyNewTerm account, open the Applications tab and select Withdraw next to the relevant application. The school is automatically notified and can no longer view or download your withdrawn application. You can withdraw at any time, including after interview if you decide the role isn't right for you.
No, MyNewTerm is not a candidate database. Schools and employers cannot search or browse candidate profiles. Your profile is private and only visible to you. The only way an employer sees your information is if you choose to apply for one of their vacancies or join their Talent Pool. This protects your privacy and gives you full control over which schools see your details.

Talent Pools

A Talent Pool lets you express interest in working at a specific school or multi-academy trust even when they have no current vacancies. Because education jobs are typically advertised for just two to three weeks, Talent Pools help you stay visible to your preferred employers for future opportunities. If a relevant role becomes available, the school may contact you directly to invite an application.
Use Search by Employer to find the school, college or trust you're interested in, open their MyNewTerm careers page, and click Join our Talent Pool. The process is similar to applying for a vacancy, but instead of applying for a specific role you select the types of positions you'd be interested in and write a statement explaining your background and motivation.
Joining a Talent Pool is an expression of interest, not a job application, so there is no guarantee of a response. Schools may contact you if a suitable opportunity arises in the future, but they are not obliged to do so. We recommend joining Talent Pools at schools you genuinely want to work for, while continuing to apply for live vacancies that match your criteria.

Account and Privacy

MyNewTerm uses encryption to protect all candidate data, which is stored securely. The platform is fully compliant with UK GDPR. Your profile and applications are only visible to you and the specific schools you choose to apply to. MyNewTerm never sells, rents or shares candidate data with third parties. For full details of how MyNewTerm collects, stores and protects your data, please read the MyNewTerm Privacy Notice.
Yes, you can delete your account at any time. Please note, once your account has been deleted this will remove all of your data and any previous applications. Deleted accounts and data cannot be recovered, so please be sure you are happy with this before confirming. Please contact us and we will send a link to your email to permanently delete your account. You will be asked to confirm before the deletion completes. Once confirmed, your profile, all submitted applications and any saved data are permanently removed.

Help and Support

If you have a MyNewTerm account, log in and use the live chat feature for immediate help during UK office hours, or browse the candidate Help Centre for step-by-step guidance on using the platform. Detailed guides cover completing your profile, applying for jobs, writing personal statements, joining Talent Pools and managing your account. Outside office hours, or if you do not yet have an account, send us a message and the team will respond as soon as we are next available.
For questions about a specific application, such as the status of your application or feedback after an interview, contact the school or multi-academy trust directly. MyNewTerm provides the platform, but each employer manages its own recruitment process and is best placed to answer questions about their specific vacancies. You can find employer contact details on their MyNewTerm careers page.
