‘Our aim is to
create spaces that children and staff can take pride in – places that foster a
sense of ownership and belonging, and where everyone feels valued and supported’
We recognise
that the physical environment in which our pupils and students learn is crucial
to their educational experience. It's not just about buildings being warm,
safe, and dry; it’s about creating spaces that are thoughtfully designed,
appropriately sized, and fit for purpose. Our vision is to ensure that every
space empowers teachers to inspire and motivate learners, and offers pupils a
place where they feel welcome, comfortable, and eager to learn. We believe all our children deserve an
environment that is not only safe and secure but also inspiring and conducive
to learning.
About our Team
Our small estates team comprises our Director of Estates, a Health and Safety Officer, and two part-time Estates Compliance Officers, who work alongside the site managers and caretakers based at each school.
Our Director of Estates has a wealth of experience to share with the appointed Building Surveyor and reporting directly into them offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with a highly experienced professional and expert in their field. Our Director of Estates is responsible for management of our property and land portfolio and delivering all of the projects across our Trust for the past 5 years, ensuring our compliance with requirements of the DfE’s Good Estates Management. Our Director of Estates is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with eight years' experience in the construction industry, delivering projects for education clients before joining our Trust. They bring valuable sector insight and will provide strong support to our Building Surveyor.
Over the course
of the last 5 years, we have completed a large programme of works, helping to improve
our school buildings, from replacing roofs, to creating new EYFS areas for our
youngest pupils and everything in between. As our Trust grows, we are excited
about the additional investment we can make in our buildings, helping us to
ensure that all pupils will have a safe and inspiring environment to learn in. In
the long term we would like to see this team grow with the potential to support
other schools/ small Trusts in the local areas to manage their estates
projects.
