We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and proactive SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our Prep School team.
Working closely with the Prep School Head of Academic Support and Director of Academic Support, you will play a key role in helping to lead and manage SEND provision across the Prep School, ensuring that every child is supported to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a professional who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to making a meaningful difference in children’s lives.
This role combines hands‑on support with strategic oversight. You will work directly with pupils in classrooms and small‑group settings, while also coordinating interventions, monitoring progress, maintaining key SEND documentation, and contributing to staff development. You will collaborate closely with teachers, parents and external agencies to deliver personalised support for pupils with additional learning needs.
You will be instrumental in fostering a joined‑up approach to teaching and learning, promoting high standards of achievement, and contributing positively to the wider life of the school. You will work in an academically selective environment with an experienced and expert staff team, and will be part of a wider SEND team which collaborates between Prep and Upper phases of the school.
The successful candidate will:
· Have HLTA status (or equivalent relevant experience) and a strong background in supporting pupils with SEND.
· Be confident working with pupils aged 7–13, both individually and in small groups.
· Have experience of coordinating or delivering targeted interventions and tracking pupil progress.
· Bring warmth, professionalism and excellent communication skills to their work with pupils, colleagues and parents.
· Be highly organised, reflective and committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
· Enjoy and thrive working collaboratively within a supportive, child-centred team.
