About this Role

Primary Class Teacher and Cover Supervisor – Roundhay School (Primary Campus)

We are currently looking to recruit a new Class Teacher/Cover Supervisor to join our excellent team. This role is an exciting role that combines both the responsibilities of a class teacher (3 days per week) with the opportunity to work across other areas of school life as a Cover Supervisor, delivering interventions, small group work and covering PPA. This role would be particularly appealing to ECTs embarking on their first full-time position in a school. It offers the opportunity to develop both class teacher and whole-school experience, working across a range of contexts while benefiting from the support and guidance of a highly experienced mentor. All of this takes place alongside the successful completion of your ECT programme, providing a rich and well-rounded start to your teaching career. More information on the role can be found later in this information pack.

At Roundhay, our shared aim is to ensure that every child becomes ‘Recognisably Roundhay’—confident, capable, and fully prepared for their future beyond the Primary Campus. We are proud of our strong team ethos and work collaboratively to ensure that all staff and pupils feel happy, valued, and listened to.

As a multi-cultural and highly diverse school community, we warmly welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, cultures, faiths, and religions. At Roundhay, everyone is welcome.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Be a highly skilled and knowledgeable practitioner
  • Be hard-working, positive, and enthusiastic, with a passion for striving for excellence
  • Set high expectations that nurture, inspire, motivate, and challenge all pupils
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with children, staff, and parents
  • Respect and embrace the diverse community we serve, truly living our core value: ‘We Celebrate Diversity’

What We Offer:
We are committed to supporting the wellbeing and development of our staff. The successful candidate will benefit from a comprehensive wellbeing package, including:

  • An excellent programme of continuous professional development
  • Access to our School Advisory Service, offering free GP appointments, counselling, physiotherapy, and support for menopause, weight management, and overall wellbeing
  • Access to the Vivup employee benefits package, including discounted car leasing and high-street discounts
  • A range of staff wellbeing and social opportunities, including visiting coffee vans, social events, and more

Join us and become part of a supportive, forward-thinking school where both staff and pupils can thrive.

We look forward to welcoming you to Team Roundhay.
