About this Role

Sheffield Teacher Training Alliance
(Part of South Yorkshire Teaching Hub, in partnership with the National Institute of Teaching)

Are you excited by developing future teachers? Do you love coaching, mentoring and sharpening classroom practice? Join Sheffield Teacher Training Alliance as an ITE Practice Coach and play a hands‑on role in shaping high‑quality teacher training across South Yorkshire.

In this dynamic role, you’ll work directly with trainee teachers across our partnership schools—observing lessons, coaching practice and providing high‑impact, developmental feedback. You’ll support trainees to build confidence, turn research into action, and thrive in the classroom.

You’ll also play an important role in quality assuring training across partner schools, working closely with mentors, school leaders and colleagues to ensure consistently high standards. This role involves collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, including schools, trust colleagues and the wider Teaching Hub team, to strengthen practice and partnership working.

Our programme is delivered in partnership with the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT), providing a coherent, research‑informed approach to teacher development from initial training through to early career.

Why join us?

  • Make a real, visible difference to trainee teachers and pupils
  • Be part of the South Yorkshire Teaching Hub and a strong regional network
  • Work with a supportive, ambitious team that values coaching, quality and collaboration
  • Stay closely connected to high‑quality, evidence‑informed practice

If you’re an excellent practitioner with a passion for developing others and improving systems, we’d love to hear from you.
