·       Salary – MRS Scale D Point 6-7 actual salary £22,254 - £22,608 (Full time annual salary £25,989 - £26,403)

Unity Education Trust are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join our education team at our Compass Lingwood to start September 2026.

We are looking for individuals with a passion for supporting young people to be successful in their learning.

The Compass Lingwood educates young people between the ages of 5-16 who have a wide range of complex social, emotional and mental health needs. 

Applications are encouraged from people who have:

·       Experience of and commitment to working in an educational setting

·       An adaptive, consistent and kind approach to supporting pupils to achieve their best.

·       Good communication skills and the ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils, parents/carers and multi agencies

·       Positive behaviour management skills and are prepared to support pupils individually, in groups and whole class settings.

This is not a traditional teaching assistant role. This would suit candidates with experience of alternative education and/or youth work.

This role requires a firm but fair role model to appropriately deal with the challenging behaviour you will encounter on a daily basis, be it in a 1:1 or group setting. If you have the experience and resilience to deal with the challenges you will face, apply today, we would love to hear from you.

Please note that the role does involve some regular physical activity e.g. restrictive physical interventions, interacting with students through play on the floor and responding promptly to escalated situations. This does not remove our obligation to make adjustments where appropriate.
