Finance Officer
Salary: NJC Point 13–17 (£29,064 – £31,022 FTE)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: Hybrid working at central office, (either
Marlborough or Bristol based) + home flexibility
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Excalibur Academies Trust is a thriving Multi-Academy Trust with 20 schools, committed to excellence in education and strong community values. Our central finance team plays a vital role in ensuring financial sustainability, compliance, and effective support across the Trust.
We are now seeking a Finance Officer to join our central
team and contribute to the smooth running of our finance operations.
As Finance Officer, you will support the Director of Finance
and Head of Finance Operations in delivering efficient and compliant financial
services across the Trust. Working closely with the Senior Finance Officer and
Central Finance Assistants, you will be responsible for:

Purchase Ledger: Processing invoices, managing
supplier records, preparing BACS runs, and reconciling credit card statements.
•
Sales Ledger: Handling income from ESFA, Local
Authorities, parents, and other sources; raising sales invoices; and managing
debtor payments.
•
Month-End & Year-End: Assisting with
reconciliations, accruals, journals, and supporting the annual audit process.
•
Administration: Managing the finance inbox,
maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with Trust policies and
statutory requirements.
This is a hands-on role where accuracy, efficiency, and
teamwork are key.
We are looking for someone who is proactive,
detail-oriented, and committed to supporting our schools and stakeholders. The
ideal candidate will have:

Minimum 5 GCSEs (A*-C or equivalent), including
English and Maths.
•
AAT Level 2 qualification (or equivalent
experience).
•
Experience in an accounting/finance role.
•
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•
Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting
demands.
•
Good ICT skills and confidence working with
finance systems.
•
Experience in an educational setting or working
remotely is desirable but not essential.
