About this Role

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting new opportunity at Astrum College and will involve working closely with the Post-16 Strategic Lead and Host Businesses. The role has the opportunity to be shaped and evolved by the postholder, in line with the College's short-term and long-term priorities.  This is a fixed one year contract with the intention to extend hours/days the following year

At Astrum College, we deliver Supported Internship programmes that help young people with SEND develop the skills, confidence and experience they need to thrive in employment and independent adulthood. We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Administrative Support Assistant to be at the heart of our growing provision.

 Why This Role is Different

This isn't a traditional administration role.  You'll work across our college provision and within our host business partners, helping to coordinate programmes, support interns and families, organise events, manage communications and contribute to the smooth running of a service that transforms lives.

 Every day brings something new—from welcoming visitors and coordinating annual reviews to supporting enrolment, creating professional communications, assisting with social media, and helping to organise exciting events and trips.

 What You'll Be Doing

Being a friendly and professional first point of contact

Coordinating meetings, reviews and diaries across multiple sites

Supporting intern enrolment and onboarding

Producing high-quality reports, documents and correspondence

Working closely with families, employers and external partners

Helping organise events, visits and marketing activities

Supporting social media, newsletters and digital content

Maintaining accurate records and data systems

Assisting with financial administration, bursaries and resources management

 What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is:

Exceptionally organised and detail-focused

Confident using Microsoft 365 and digital systems

An excellent communicator with strong customer service skills

Able to build positive relationships with a wide range of people

Flexible, adaptable and comfortable working across different locations

Passionate about supporting young people with SEND

Committed to inclusion, equality and safeguarding

You'll Stand Out If You Have

Experience within education, SEND, local authority or public sector settings

Experience organising events or marketing activities

Knowledge of Supported Internships

Experience with social media, newsletters or digital content creation

Experience supporting meetings and taking minutes
