About the Role

Under the direction of the Chief Finance Officer, the Procurement and Contracts Officer will play a critical role in managing the procurement process for goods and services across our multi-academy trust. They will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • ·       Develop and execute procurement strategies for a multi-academy trust, prioritising value for money.
  • ·       Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, emphasising sustainability and social value.
  • ·       Coordinate procurement processes and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • ·       Monitor supplier performance, address issues promptly, and maintain accurate records.
  • ·       Collaborate with internal stakeholders, providing guidance and support in procurement activities.
  • ·       Stay updated on industry trends, manage contract renewals, and resolve disputes with suppliers.

 

We need someone with:

  • ·       Proven experience of contract management.
  • ·       Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the education sector or a similar environment.
  • ·       A degree is desirable, but procurement and/or contract management qualifications, or significant, demonstrable experience in both areas, will be considered
  • ·       Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • ·       Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other ICT systems.
  • ·       Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
