We are seeking a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs, to work within the main school. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to help the pupil access learning, develop independence, and feel fully included in the classroom environment.
Key responsibilities:
Providing individual 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs.
Supporting the pupil to engage with learning activities and follow classroom routines.
Implementing strategies from individual support or education plans.
Encouraging the pupil’s social, emotional and communication development.
Working collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and parents where appropriate.
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs (desirable).
Be patient, empathetic and flexible.
Have good communication and teamwork skills.
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Hours: 15 hours per week (9:30am – 12:30pm, Monday to Friday)
Contract: Term-time only, temporary until August 2027 in the first instance.
