About this Role

Mossbourne Fobbing Academy seeks to appoint a Second in Charge Modern Foreign Languages Learning Area 

Mossbourne Federation is the realisation of Sir Clive Bourne’s dream to provide the children of Hackney with an outstanding education. In 2025, our 20th anniversary year, we are delighted to have expanded to include three Thurrock schools in our Federation. We now consist of seven academies: 

  • Mossbourne Community Academy (MCA) secondary and sixth form, Hackney
  • Mossbourne Fobbing Academy (MFA) secondary and sixth form, Thurrock
  • Mossbourne Herd Lane Academy (MHLA) primary, Thurrock 
  • Mossbourne Parkside Academy (MPA) primary, Hackney
  • Mossbourne Port Side Academy (MPSA) secondary, Thurrock
  • Mossbourne Riverside Academy (MRA) primary, Hackney
  • Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy (MVPA) secondary, Hackney 

We are seeking an outstanding leader and practitioner who is ready to provide strong leadership for the learning areaThe successful applicant will be passionate about teaching languages and have the drive and ambition to help lead improvementsThey will be able to teach at least one of Spanish and French and inspire students to appreciate the richness and diversity of these languages and cultures. They will be well organised and willing to go the ‘extra mile’.  They will be ready to deputise for the Head of Learning Area when they are unavailable and will embody the high standards that we expect from all of our staffThey will share in the vision that Languages education is for all and will be instrumental in not only maintaining high standards but have the desire to play a significant role in developing the Modern Foreign Languages learning area further.
