About this Role

As a teaching assistant at Sacred Heart you will be part of a hard working team, committed to providing the very best personalized support so that our children are able to reach their full potential. We pride ourselves on our 'inclusion for all' approach whereby we do everything we can to support the individual needs of our children.  This includes children with a significant level of need.

We are looking for an individual who is nurturing, proactive and committed to making a significant impact on our children's lives. You will work closely with the school SENDCo and class teacher(s) to provide general and targeted support for children with a range of needs. Under the general supervision and direction of the class teacher, you will support, plan and implement learning activities for individuals and groups.  Please see the attached Role Profile for more details.

  • An enthusiastic and creative individual with high expectations and a positive outlook
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, with empathy and resilience
  • Experience in a school or youth setting, ideally with SEND or challenging behaviours
  • Patience and resilience in supporting our most vulnerable children
  • A sense of humour!
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent qualification) essential

The role is for 27.5 hours per week, term time only
