About this Role

Kingsbridge Educational Trust wish to appoint an exceptional Assistant Headteacher for Willow Grove Primary School which is a brand new four-form entry school that opened in September 2024 for children aged 4 to 11. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate as the school expands. The vision for the school is to become a Centre of Excellence for the Arts and to provide first class academic and personal development opportunities for all in the school community.

Currently there are 105 pupils within Foundation and Years 1, 2 and 3 and this will increase to 160 pupils from September 2026.  The capacity for the school is 840 pupils.

We are looking for a dedicated, dynamic and creative colleague committed to team working who can support the Headteacher and the Trust to continue to develop the school into an outstanding safe learning environment where pupils can thrive. You will need to understand the unique position of working in an expanding in school and be flexible enough to thrive in an ever-changing environment as the school continues to grow over the next few years.

This is a pivotal role within the school, focused on ensuring that every child is safe, supported and able to attend school regularly and thrive. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across safeguarding, behaviour and attendance, working closely with staff, pupils, families and external agencies to promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment.  As part of the senior leadership team, the Assistant Headteacher will contribute to the strategic development of the school, support high-quality teaching and learning, and play a key role in shaping the culture and ethos of the school.

This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced Assistant Head or Middle Leader looking for career development to join the school’s senior leadership team.  You will be joining a team comprising of Headteacher and another Assistant Headteacher SENDCo.
