About this Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning and Behaviour Assistant at Park Aspire Alternative Provision Academy.

The successful candidate will need to understand the complex emotional, social and behavioural needs of KS1, KS2 and KS3 pupils, and will be required to cope with highly complex problems, particularly in child protection and challenging behaviours.  Some of our pupils are involved in high risk-taking activities and may lead chaotic lifestyles or suffer from neglect, forms of abuse, be witness to domestic violence and experience family upheaval.  Pupils need to be treated sympathetically and with sensitivity in light of their difficulties they face and be helped to overcome those barriers to succeed..

Park Aspire Alternative Provision Academy is part of Exceed Academies Trust, which currently consists of fourteen academies; ten primary schools, an all-through primary-to-secondary academy, two alternative provision academies (Primary and Secondary), and a specialist setting for children/young people who suffer from social, emotional and mental health difficulties.  The Trust has an excellent reputation within Bradford and beyond, and an outstanding track record of supporting staff in developing their careers through specialist training lead by the Exceed Teaching School Hub and our Outstanding SCITT.

If you'd like to know more about our school, please visit our website at Home - Park Aspire .

  • Act as a role model, establishing productive and constructive working relationships with pupils
  • Use specialist learning skills/training/experience to support pupils
  • Have an understanding of child development and learning
  • Have the ability to relate well to pupils and adults

We can offer:

  • Children who are enthusiastic to learn
  • Supportive Trust central team, school leadership, governors, staff and parents
  • Fantastic outdoor facilities
  • Opportunities for further development and training
  • A healthy work-life balance
  • Free access to an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Free, on-site parking
  • Excellent employer pension contribution scheme

We would warmly encourage any interested candidates to visit our school setting.  In order to do so, please contact Richard Morris, Acting Headteacher on 01274 735298 to make the necessary arrangements.

Exceed Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to related online content checks, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025.  All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check as well as successful completion of a probationary period.
