About this Role

Due to our growing school community and continued commitment to providing the right setting for pupils with SEND across Rotherham, we are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Principal to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational leader to work in close partnership with the Principal, school staff, and Trust colleagues to help shape and develop an outstanding learning environment where every young person can thrive.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • A strong understanding of a range of SEND needs, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, carers, colleagues, and external agencies.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to support the strategic and operational development of the school.
  • Experience of creating, implementing, and reviewing tailored support plans such as IEPs and EHCPs to enable pupil progress.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside teaching assistants, therapists, and external specialists.
  • A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to ensuring every child receives a high-quality learning experience.
  • A commitment to our school ethos: “We know our young people.”
  • The ability to champion our core values: Be Kind, Be Proud, Be Creative.

In return, we can offer:

  • A supportive and welcoming working environment.
  • A strong commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Excellent career progression opportunities.
  • The opportunity to work with a dynamic and forward-thinking team, both within school and across the Trust.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Healthcare Cash Plan.
  • Shopping discounts.
  • Gym scheme.
  • Childcare Voucher Scheme (existing applicants only).
  • Access to the Cycle to Work scheme and Technology Voucher scheme.

If you are a passionate and ambitious leader who wants to make a real difference to the lives of young people with SEND, we would love to hear from you.
