“Success is a science; if you have the right conditions, you get the result.” So, said Oscar Wilde and we say the same.

Here at Smestow Academy we are looking for a talented Teacher of Science. Whether you are beginning your career as an ECT or you have been teaching science for decades, to really inspire the next generation of scientists you need an environment with the right conditions. Here at Smestow Academy we can offer just that.

Our Science Department is at the centre of the curriculum at Smestow Academy. We have a dynamic and forward-thinking team dedicated to fostering critical thinking, communication and collaboration with an ambitious and inclusive curriculum. The department has an innate passion for their subject, which is reflected in their teaching and students’ attitude to learning in lessons. The Science department is thriving, where student progress at GCSE and A Level has been well above national averages for many years with disadvantaged students’ outcomes closely matching their peers.

We also welcome applications from ECTs or Teachers of PE with a second specialism of Science.
