Teaching Assistant with Early Years Qualification

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant who would be able to work within the Early Years and Key Stage 1 phases at Greenfield Primary School.

As a Teaching Assistant (EYFS/KS1) you will:

  • Help to oversee, maintain and organise clean, tidy, child-friendly environments which meet pupils’ diverse needs and ensure they feel safe and welcome in the school
  • Provide high quality learning support to pupils age 3-7yrs as required, within the classroom setting, with small groups or on a1-1 basis, as directed by the class teacher
  • Be able to plan, observe, keep records and communicate with staff and parents/carers about children’s progress and development
  • Meet the personal care needs of pupils, whilst encouraging their independence (including toileting and feeding when required)
  • Build strong, trusting connections with pupils to promote emotional wellbeing and a sense of belonging.
  • Support the school’s culture and values by modelling respectful, kind and calm communication.
We are looking for someone who:
  • Has a secure knowledge and understanding of child development, the Birth-5 framework and at least a working knowledge of the National Curriculum for KS1
  • Is adaptable and able to work effectively within both EYFS and KS1 classroom settings as required
  • Has some experience of working with pupils with additional needs
  • Has high expectations of children and a belief that all children can succeed
  • Is enthusiastic, energetic, hardworking and resilient
  • Is able to work proactively as part of a team
  • Is able develop positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Is an effective communicator with a good standard of literacy and computer skills
  • Is committed to their own professional learning
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
