About this Role
PEAK Academy, Reach South Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced Site Assistant to join the School as soon as possible, working 3 days per week.

Actual Salary Range: £16,897 - £18,056 (NJC Grade G)
Contract Type: Permanent
Contract Hours: 22.2 hours per week, 52 weeks. (Wed to Fri 8am to 4pm)
We are looking to
recruit an experienced professional, self-motivated
and hardworking individual to join our
team. The priority of the role is to maintain The
Peak Academy and its several buildings, whilst monitoring the associated
health, safety and statutory compliance activities for the site.
The post holder will be required to interact and liaise with school and Trust staff, students, and visitors, so professional communication is key. Previous experience in site maintenance, ideally within an education environment is desirable, with practical and simple maintenance skills and knowledge being essential to the role.
Duties will include:
Coordinating and
completing site and grounds related tasks at The Peak Academy
Carrying out minor
repair and maintenance works on site, including decorating or reactive
maintenance
Responsibility for site security and daily opening and closing
procedures of the school site (this might necessitate the need for a split
working pattern)
Ensuring that
required inspections, testing and maintenance in relation to site equipment and
services is completed is a timely manner
To have oversight of
external contractors for the duration of their time on site
To ensure the Trust’s
Health and Safety Policy and Learning Environment Manual are understood and
complied with
To oversee the work of cleaning staff, to ensure quality standards and
value for money are met
To complete all
required compliance checks as set out on the Every software
The role is line managed by the Trust’s
Regional Site Manager, with whom you will be working closely, and who will
offer assistance and direction.
You
will also be working with a large network of teaching and support staff,
students and visitors.
About the successful candidate
We are looking for
people who have the following experience and qualities:
Relevant experience of
working in a
similar role
Have the ability to work
unsupervised, and use own initiative
Be able to display effective communication skills
Be eager to work with a wider team, be flexible
Able to deal with change and unpredictability positively with a “can do” attitude.
Educated to GCSE level in English and Maths
and competent with basic IT packages
About the
School
PEAK Academy is a day specialist provider of education in Dursley,
Gloucestershire for children and young people aged from 11 to 16 years who have
an SEMH profile. There are currently 60 pupils on roll but Reach South plans,
in partnership with the LA to diversify both number and age range.
PEAK formally joined Reach South in August 2022. The Trust has secured
capital to ensure the capacity for growth and diversification.
PEAK’s aim is to build safe independent lives for the SEMH population
through a process of understanding, support, and enablement. To achieve this
goal the school looks at the unique impact social, emotional, and mental health
experiences has on the individual child. From this we aim as a school to
personalise the child’s curriculum, care, and therapeutic package to ensure
every child achieves and experiences success and independence.
REACH South is a forward-thinking academy trust that puts the child,
and their diagnosis first. Springfields Academy, Calne was the first Reach
South special school (Ofsted good March 2022. NAS advanced status June 2022) In
September 2023 SAIL (Salisbury Academy for Inspiration Learners) will open. The
three schools will work very closely to meet, lead, and shape regional agendas.
