About this Role

Old Sarum Primary School is seeking an inspiring, aspirational and values-driven Headteacher to lead the school into the next phase of its journey.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that sits at the very heart of its community, with dedicated staff and pupils who are eager to learn and succeed.

In the role of Headteacher, you will enjoy autonomous leadership of your academy,  complemented by the strong support of our well‑established primary improvement model, which has a proven track record of driving sustainable school improvement.

The most recent Ofsted inspection recognised Old Sarum Primary School for its increasing ambition for pupils.  We are now seeking a Headteacher with the vision, commitment and leadership skills to build on this momentum and realise the school’s full potential.

About the School

Old Sarum Primary School is a welcoming, inclusive school where:

  • Pupils are motivated, engaged and keen to learn
  • Staff are ambitious for every child
  • Purposeful, high-quality learning is evident in every classroom

The school is part of Magna Learning Partnership which consists of seven primary, three secondary schools and a sixth form college.  All academies work collaboratively to strengthen educational opportunities for all pupils. Staff at Old Sarum benefit from professional collaboration across the Trust, sharing best practice and contributing to improvement work in other settings.

There is also a unique opportunity to work closely with secondary Headteachers within the Trust, strengthening primary–secondary transition and developing curriculum continuity across the full educational spectrum.

The Role

We are seeking a Headteacher who:

  • Has a clear, compelling vision for excellence in primary education
  • Is committed to high standards, inclusive practice and safeguarding
  • Is passionate about developing both pupils and staff
  • Thrives in a challenging yet highly supportive environment
  • Is motivated by collaboration and leadership development within a Trust

You will lead a school that is proud of its progress and ambitious for its future, supported by a strong Trust structure and a community of like-minded leaders.

What We Offer

  • The support of a Trust with strong, experienced leaders
  • Close collaboration with a Director of Primary Education and fellow Primary Headteachers
  • Opportunities for professional growth and shared leadership development
  • Dedicated staff who are committed to improving the lives of the children they serve
