Rivendell Flying High Academy are looking to appoint a Midday Supervisor to work within our team to provide a stimulating and caring environment for our children during lunch times. Lunchtime duties include helping to promote good eating habits whilst supervising the children in the dining area, caring for their health, safety and welfare both in the dining area and on the playground. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children and can build positive relationships with them. 

You will be able to manage, organise and take part in positive play activities with our children.  We are looking for someone who:

 Your core duties will be:

  • ·       Supervise pupils in the dining hall
  • ·       Ensure that the overall arrangement for children to dine promotes an orderly and pleasant meals service
  • ·       Supervise return of used trays, crockery and cutlery by the children
  • ·       Ensure that tables are left clean for the next occupant
  • ·       Ensure dining areas are left clean and tidy
  • ·       Participate in Opal play activities out on the playground, ensuring all items are returned at the end of the session
  • ·       Plan and prepare activities in line with the Opal play lead
  • ·       Arrange supervision to allow movement amongst the children within the area covered  
  • ·       Ensure acceptable standards of behaviour are maintained
  • ·       Minimise the likelihood of children hurting themselves, others or damaging property
  • ·       Supervising pupils in classrooms during bad weather
  • ·       To attend safeguarding training as required by the school and maintain your knowledge and understanding of your responsibility for safeguarding children in this school
