About this Role

SEN Teaching Assistant with Mealtime duty
Full time to commence December 2025

To be paid at NJC Band C Scale Point 5 £13.26ph (39 weeks per year) for the TA role and NJC Band A Scale Point 2 £12.65ph (38 weeks per year) for the MTA role.

Please note - There may be the possibility of additional hours if wanted by the successful candidate to work in our After School Club Provision.

This particular role is a fixed term appointment linked to EHCP funding to support pupils with high levels of complex SEND across the school. Predominately in Early years and KS1, but could lead to KS2 work also following further EHCP's in progress. We are looking for an individual who has excellent skills and knowledge in this area and is able to evidence previous experience of working with SEN children in a primary school to ensure the statutory needs can be met for these pupils. CPD will be provided along with support from outside agencies.

We offer you the support of clear systems, protocols, expectations and structures to help you to succeed. You will need to show initiative, creativity and demonstrate the aptitude to work as part of a successful and growing team to improve the life chances of our pupils and make every child feel ‘special’. We want you to come and join our happy, positive learning environments where our consistent vision is that through collaboration we will always be ‘Stronger Together’.

We are looking for someone with a strong, sensitive and caring approach to children’s needs, who is able to be an effective communicator and think creatively. You will need to show a high degree of initiative and be solution focussed.

Ideally, you will:

Provide a sensitive and nurturing approach to children’s needs
Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents
Have excellent English and Maths skills
Be willing to work as part of a team and have a good sense of humour
Be able to use your own initiative when required
Have experience in a similar role in a school
Have prior knowledge and experience of working with children with special educational needs
You should have literacy and numeracy to GCSE A-C or equivalent.

What we can offer you:

Salary Sacrifice offers, including Bike2Work, Tech Scheme and Gym Membership
Substantial workplace pension
Term time ‘Give Back Day’ to take for personal reasons
Staff Wellbeing support
CPD opportunities for all staff

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A DBS disclosure and Social Media online check is required for this post.
