Full Time

Are you an outstanding Social Sciences specialist ready to lead, inspire and make a real impact? Do you have the drive to shape curriculum, challenge thinking and raise aspirations across GCSE and A Level?

The Role

Watling Academy is seeking a dedicated, inspiring and ambitious individual to join our growing Post‑16 team as Head of Year – Sixth Form. Following the successful launch of our Sixth Form in September 2025, this role presents an exciting opportunity for an outstanding practitioner to contribute to the continued development and excellence of our Post‑16 offer.

As Head of Year, you will play a central role in ensuring the wellbeing, progress and overall success of Sixth Form students. You will lead the mentoring team, oversee attendance and punctuality, coordinate our enrichment and personal development programmes and provide high‑quality guidance as students navigate UCAS, apprenticeships and other post‑18 pathways.

You will be a visible and approachable presence within the Sixth Form, shaping a positive culture built on high expectations, strong relationships and a shared commitment to excellence. Working closely with the Deputy Headteacher – Post‑16, you will help deliver an ambitious vision for a Sixth Form that enables all students to flourish academically and personally.

This is a pivotal role within our developing Post‑16 provision, offering the opportunity to have a meaningful and lasting impact on our students’ futures.
