About this Role

Our new nursery offering gives an amazing opportunity for staff to contribute to the development of our youngest children. As a new offering, this will allow all new team members to not only contribute day to day but into the development of the overall provision as well. It will offer growth opportunities for staff and children alike and will give those that work in and attend the setting and "let their light shine".
This is an opportunity for a teacher to join us and shape the education and development of the youngest children at Polehampton Church of England Infant and Nursery School. It is also a unique chance to shape the curriculum and expectations for our brand new nursery. Pupils from 3 years old initially will be admitted to Polehampton Nursery, with 28 places available per session.
We are seeking teachers with previous EY experience (or ECTs) and a passion for early years and Key Stage 1.
WHO ARE WE?
Polehampton CE Infant and Nursery School and Polehampton CE Junior School are separate two-form-entry schools across two sites, which operate with one Senior Leadership Team and one Local Governing Body. The Polehampton schools are set within large grounds and have excellent opportunities for the pupils, including a swimming pool at the Junior site and Forest School provision at both sites. Both schools are proud members of The Keys Academy Trust. Our Infant school was rated Good by Ofsted in 2023 (with an Outstanding Early Years), and our Junior school was inspected in November 2024 and achieved Good in all areas.
KEY DATES AND DETAILS FOR APPLYING
An application pack is available on the school website or by sending an application to our Operations Manager via email (operations@polehampton.wokingham.sch.uk).
For applicants applying for a September start:
Closing date for applications: Sunday 19 April
Interview date/s: w/c 27 April (likely Thursday 30 April)
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN FROM WORKING WITH US
We are proud of our team and what we can offer staff who wish to join us. We recognise that joining a new school is as much about what we can provide as it is about what the successful applicant can give to us. Therefore, we offer the following through our schools and The Keys Academy Trust:
A dedicated leadership team who go above and beyond for the staff.
A commitment to your professional development, with a bespoke career pathway (both within Polehampton and within our Trust) which includes locally-delivered NPQs (through our Trust delivery team), leadership opportunities (including leading subject areas or school improvement), and a comprehensive CPD package (including ECT training).
Collaboration and workload sharing with other schools within the Trust.
An exciting chance to work in a unique set of schools across two sites.
The chance to be a part of our exciting curriculum design process and evidence-based practice.
Wonderful children who are eager to learn.
A school committed to empowering children to become life-long learners.
A vibrant, fun and welcoming staff and environment.
Supportive parents with a strong sense of community
A wellbeing package through our Trust staff support provider.
WHAT TYPE OF PERSON ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking a passionate, hardworking and committed teacher to join our exciting team. The successful candidate must be an excellent EYFS practitioner. We are proud of our nurturing environment and high standards (in class and out of class), and therefore are looking for someone with the following qualities:
A strong teaching practitioner who has experience in EYFS / Nursery environments
Someone who is committed to doing what it takes to help secure the best outcomes for pupils.
A team player who enjoys working as part of a strong, supportive group and who thrives on being part of a hard-working environment.
A commitment to the highest standards of achievement and behaviour.
Someone who is an excellent communicator, who is committed to building strong relationships with all stakeholders.
All our successful applicants will be expected to embrace life as a ‘primary school’ across two sites (including travelling between sites). Although we are C of E schools, applicants do not need to be of Christian faith; all faiths or no particular religion are welcomed to apply.
