We are looking for an exceptional Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team — someone who shares our passion for high-quality learning, has strong communication skills and is ready to take on responsibility in the classroom and beyond

About The Role

As an HLTA at Hook Lane, you will:

  • Lead planned learning activities and interventions across classes

  • Support teachers with planning, assessment and curriculum delivery

  • Deliver high-quality teaching where necessary, including providing cover for short-term teacher absence

  • Work with individuals and small groups to support progress and wellbeing

  • Support behaviour for learning with consistency, clarity and positive relationships

  • Help to monitor and record pupil progress

  • Collaborate with colleagues to embed effective, inclusive practice

You will be supported to develop further in this role, with access to training, reflection time and leadership opportunities. You will also work closely with our Inclusion Lead and classroom teams to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs or challenges.

Who You Are

We welcome applications from candidates who:

  • Hold HLTA status or have Level 4/5 equivalent experience with the potential to work at HLTA level

  • Have strong understanding of effective primary teaching and learning

  • Are confident in supporting learning across the curriculum

  • Build positive, purposeful relationships with pupils, staff and families

  • Display resilience, adaptability and professionalism

  • Believe in high expectations and inclusive education

You might currently be a Level 3/4 TA looking for progression, or an existing HLTA eager to grow your impact and leadership in a supportive, collaborative setting.
