About the Role
Support the teacher in creating an organised and vibrant learning environment.
Support pupils in their learning under the direction of the teacher.
Assist the class teacher with observations of pupil progress and school’s record keeping systems including the filing of children’s work.
Support pupils to work on individual educational priorities [IEPs] and assist the teacher with the recording and setting of objectives.
Preparation of the classroom for pupils ‘activities, tidying and clearing away, cleaning of equipment and help maintain an ordered and attractive classroom.
About You
Have a Level 2 qualification (GCSE or equivalent) in Maths and English or suitable equivalent experience
Have an understanding of child development and learning
Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
Ability to work flexibly, throughout the whole school, meeting the needs of pupils in a range of contexts
Ability to take an active role in the support of PE lessons and swimming sessions
Can effectively use ICT to support learning
Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents
Good organisational skills
Good communication skills
Ability to remain positive and enthusiastic, including when under pressure
