About this Role

About Us:

The Green Flying High Academy is a warm, nurturing, and ambitious school community where we strive to “make every day count” for every child. Our vision is simple: we want the best education for every child, every day.

As a school, we are incredibly proud of the caring, comforting, and homely environment we provide, where children feel safe, supported, and inspired. Our staff are passionate about helping children grow not only as learners but as people, and this shines through in the positive relationships and the high aspirations we hold for all pupils.

Recently graded Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted, inspectors praised our exceptional education, the enthusiasm of our pupils, and the dedication of our staff — describing our school as cheerful, ambitious, and supportive, with pupils who show a true thirst for learning.

We are proud of our strong community ethos, our rich and engaging curriculum, and the exciting opportunities we offer to help every child thrive both academically and personally.

Visits to the school are strongly encouraged, and we warmly welcome those interested in the role to experience Team Green firsthand.

About Flying High:

Flying High Partnership is a thriving multi-academy trust of 35 primary schools across Derbyshire, Nottingham City, and Nottinghamshire. We are driven by a shared vision to be unique, exceptional, and sustainable. Founded in 2012, we believe in the power of meaningful collaboration to help schools reach their full potential while supporting others along the way.

Our Partnership celebrates individuality, champions continuous improvement, and ensures every child thrives. With a strong focus on school-led professional development and leadership, we’re committed to growing exceptional teachers and inspirational leaders.

Together, we make every day count.

About the Role

We are looking for an organised, proactive, and highly skilled Office Manager to lead and oversee the smooth running of our school office. As a key member of the administrative and wider school team, you will provide high-level administrative and financial support that ensures our school operates efficiently and warmly welcomes children, families, staff, and visitors.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in delivering an exceptional service. You will work closely with the Headteacher, staff, families, and the Flying High Partnership Central Team, contributing to the wider life, culture, and continued improvement of the school.

Whether you already have experience in a similar role or are ready to step up, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a wide range of complex administrative tasks, including sensitive correspondence, financial documentation and accurate data management.
  • Lead and coordinate the work of administrative colleagues, ensuring a calm, efficient and positive office environment.
  • Maintain and improve systems and processes to support effective school operations.
  • Lead on financial administration, including ordering, account reconciliation, budget monitoring and cash handling.
  • Organise school events, visits and activities, managing logistics, communication and associated finances.
  • Provide professional secretarial support for meetings (SLT, governors, committees), including preparing agendas and taking accurate minutes.
  • Offer confident, informed advice to parents, staff and external partners on school processes and policies.
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times and engage in regular safeguarding training.
  • Maintain confidentiality, accuracy and high professional standards.
  • Contribute positively to the culture, values and wider life of the school and the Flying High Partnership.

We Can Offer You:

  • A warm, welcoming and supportive team that values collaboration and wellbeing
  • High‑quality professional development at every stage of your career
  • A culture of continual improvement, innovation and shared best practice
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme (counselling, financial, legal support)
  • A fantastic working environment where children are at the heart of every decision

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience in a senior administrative role (education experience is beneficial)
  • Is highly organised, proactive and able to prioritise confidently in a fast‑paced environment
  • Remains calm under pressure, with children at the heart of their daily decisions
  • Is confident using IT systems including Outlook, MS Office and administrative databases
  • Demonstrates professionalism, accuracy and confidentiality
  • Can problem‑solve independently and work effectively as part of a team
  • Builds strong, positive relationships with staff, families and external partners
  • Approaches challenges with positivity, resilience and solution‑focused thinking
  • Understands and models the values of the Flying High Partnership
