About this Role

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and highly effective full time, permanent Science teacher to join our Science Faculty, specialising in preferably Chemistry but we would consider a Physics or Biology specialist. The ideal candidate will be able to operate within a dynamic and forward-thinking team who are focused on developing exciting and engaging learning experiences for students across the KS3, KS4 and KS5 range. We are particularly interested in candidates who can offer and/or develop Key Stage 5 Chemistry. The academy would also be interested in hearing from current unqualified candidates who may be interested in completing a paid teaching apprenticeship.

We aim to raise student aspirations to achieve personal and academic excellence and to ensure they have the skills, confidence and resilience to become passionate life-long learners with the desire to fulfil their potential and more. The successful candidate will join our popular and flourishing Faculty, with a focus on innovation and sharing good practice. We are looking for a teacher with a genuine enthusiasm for teaching Science and the ability to engage and motivate students.

Arnold Hill Spencer Academy is a truly special place to learn and work. In June 2025, Ofsted rated the academy ‘Good’ in all areas and ‘Outstanding’ for Post-16 provision. Our August GCSE results exceeded national averages for both attainment and progress, reflecting the dedication of our staff and the ambition of our students.

We are proud of our young people, whose behaviour, achievements, and character shine every day. Guided by our community ethos — “Be inspired and achieve together” — we provide daily opportunities for success, growth, and collaboration. Respect, responsibility, and independence are at the heart of our values, helping students to mature into confident, capable individuals. At Arnold Hill Spencer Academy, we believe in the potential of every student and nurture it within a caring, supportive environment where everyone can thrive.

Early application is strongly encouraged as we reserve the right to interview and close the advert ahead of the closing date.

Spencer Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our children and young people. Therefore, we expect everyone to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre- employment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced criminal records with Barred List Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and the completion of Level 2 Safeguarding training. It is an offence to apply for the role if an applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children (where the role involves this type of regulated activity).

The Trust and its member academies are committed to promoting equality and diversity in both employment and education provision. We aim to ensure that students, parents, governors, employees, contractors, partners, clients and other stakeholders within the Trust community are treated fairly, and with dignity and respect regardless of Protected Characteristics.
