Lead with Purpose – Become Our Next Vice Principal at Astrea Academy Woodfields

Are you a strategic and compassionate leader with a passion for inclusion, safeguarding, and disruption-free learning? Do you thrive on building strong cultures, leading with integrity, and making a meaningful impact on young lives? If so, this is a powerful opportunity to help shape the future at Astrea Academy Woodfields.

We are seeking an exceptional Vice Principal to help lead our thriving secondary academy in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, as part of the Astrea Academy Trust family.

About the Role

This is a significant and career‑defining opportunity for an ambitious and experienced senior leader to play a central role in shaping the next phase of Astrea Academy Woodfields’ journey. As Vice Principal, you will work in close partnership with the Principal and senior leadership team to secure outstanding educational outcomes for all scholars and to embed a culture of high expectations, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

You will contribute to the strategic leadership and day‑to‑day management of the academy, supporting the delivery of the academy’s vision and strategic priorities. In the absence of the Principal, you will deputise and take full responsibility for the leadership and operation of the academy. You will also play a key role in developing colleagues, strengthening teaching and learning, promoting positive behaviour, and ensuring that safeguarding and wellbeing remain at the heart of academy practice.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a Vice Principal who is:

  • An experienced senior leader with a proven track record of securing improvement and raising standards across an academy or key areas of responsibility
  • A strategic and values-driven leader who can translate vision into clear action and sustained impact
  • An inspirational culture-builder who motivates others, develops high‑performing teams, and models excellence in leadership and teaching
  • Committed to inclusive, academically rigorous education, ensuring all scholars make strong progress, including those facing barriers to learning
  • A credible and collaborative leader who works effectively with staff, pupils, parents, and wider stakeholders
  • A strong advocate for safeguarding, wellbeing, and equity, embedding these principles into everyday practice

This role will suit a leader who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey and make a lasting contribution to the academy, the Trust, and the communities we serve.

What We Offer

You will be supported by a strong infrastructure and expert team, including:

  • Access to sector-leading expertise and Astrea’s Leadership Academy
  • A values-driven culture focused on high expectations, powerful knowledge, and warm-strict behaviour systems
  • Opportunities for career progression across a growing network of schools in South Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire
  • Comprehensive professional development and wellbeing support

A full list of employee benefits is available in our ‘Join Our Team’ brochure.
