About this Role

Rose Hill Primary School are seeking a thorough and proactive Part-Time Attendance Officer to join our dedicated pastoral and attendance team. You will join a supportive team that includes an established Attendance Officer and Family Support Worker, and is led by an Assistant Headteacher. In this role, by keeping our data sharp and our records clear, you ensure that no student falls through the cracks and that every child gets the support they need to show up and succeed. Attendance is a challenging aspect in our setting that we are dedicated to improving.

We are specifically looking for someone with exceptional organisational skills. You will need to maintain a flawless digital audit trail so that colleagues can easily pick up where you left off, ensuring a seamless approach to student welfare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data & Digital Tracking: Use school systems (Bromcom) to monitor daily attendance and punctuality. You will be responsible for keeping the digital communication log 100% up-to-date.

  • First-Response Communication: Manage first-day absence calls and follow up with parents, ensuring every interaction is recorded accurately in our online tracking system.

  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with the Pastoral Team and the Senior Leadership Team. You will provide the "data-driven" insights they need to support pupils with SEND, SEMH, or anxiety.

  • Student & Family Engagement: Meet with families to develop attendance action plans and build professional, trust-based relationships with families to reduce barriers to learning.

  • Safeguarding: Maintain rigorous, confidential records in line with safeguarding policies.

  • Seamless Handovers: Ensure all data, ongoing cases, and parent communications are documented clearly for the wider team to access during your off-hours.

What We Are Looking For

The "Data & Tracking" Specialist:

  • Technical Proficiency: High level of comfort with Excel and school MIS systems. You enjoy "clean" data and logical filing systems.

  • Precision: You have an eye for detail and can spot attendance patterns or trends quickly.

The "Team Player":

  • Communication: You are a clear communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment. You understand that your data informs the work of the whole pastoral team.

  • Resilience: The ability to remain calm and professional during challenging or sensitive conversations with parents and carers.

If you think this could be you, we want to hear from applicants with a range of experiences. Preferred experience includes:

  • Experience in a school office, administration, or a role requiring high-volume digital record-keeping

  • Experience in customer service or social care where "case management" and tracking were used
