About this Role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our hardworking and friendly team, working across both our Primary and Secondary Phases.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning by working with individuals and groups as directed by the class teacher.
  • Monitor pupils’ progress, achievements, difficulties and developmental needs, reporting concerns to the appropriate teacher.
  • Assist teachers in planning and preparing learning activities.
  • Build positive, effective relationships with pupils, staff, parents, governors and the wider community, reflecting the ethos and values of our school.
  • Prepare and maintain resources, equipment and classroom displays.
  • Use a range of strategies and skills to help pupils make progress and feel safe, happy and supported.
  • Contribute fully to school life and be prepared to go the extra mile for the benefit of the whole school community.

·       8.45am – 3.30pm daily

·       30 hours 25 minutes per week, Monday–Friday

Salary

First 12 months - £10,867

Aligned with the current National Minimum Wage for Apprentices.

  • Clear communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Good organisational skills
  • Competent in ICT – word processing, email, internet
  • Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities
  • Basic First Aid knowledge (desirable)

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C / Level 4 or Functional Skills Level 2
  • At least three additional GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above
