Job Title: Designated Safeguarding and Attendance Lead
Location: Esteem South Academy
Grade/Scale: Support Pay Scale Grade 11
Contract: 37 hours per week, All Year Round, Fixed Term until February 2027
Esteem South Academy is looking to recruit an experienced and organised
individual to join our academy to lead on safeguarding and attendance for a fixed period of 12 months to cover maternity. You will join the Head of School who leads the site on a daily basis. Pupils at this site will be in all key stages up to KS4. The
post will suit someone who can work in a fast- paced environment with
vulnerable pupils, is proactive and an excellent role model. The
site may have approximately 60 pupils on roll and classes may have up to
around 10 pupils in each. You will deliver staff training, maintain policies and uphold rigorous standards for safeguarding and attendance. You will analyse attendance data, identify trends and implement whole academy interventions, including formal legal processes. You will be responsible for articulating our whole academy safeguarding and attendance culture.
Applicants should have good knowledge and experience of working with disaffected pupils in a school or other alternative setting. An affinity for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties is an essential quality for this challenging but rewarding opportunity. Applicants should have strong mental and physical resilience, have high expectations, and a sense of humour. You must be able to build positive relationships with our pupils and think outside of the box.
Individual's must be willing to contribute fully to the life of the academy and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
