About this Role

Oak View School is seeking a committed and proactive Hydrotherapy Pool Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist team. This vital role combines pupil support in our hydrotherapy pool with important pool plant and safety responsibilities to ensure a safe, high-quality environment for our pupils with severe and complex needs.

Working Pattern Monday to Friday 8.50 am to 3.20 pm  (includes 1 additional hour for team meeting every other Tuesday )

Responsibilities 

  • Support pupils in the hydrotherapy pool, delivering personalised programmes with teachers and therapists
  • Must hold a lifeguard certificate to act as a lifeguard during hydrotherapy sessions. 
  • Assist with pre- and post-session routines, transitions and pupil care
  • Monitor, maintain and record pool plant operations, water safety checks and chemical supplies
  • Work closely with senior staff, site teams and therapists to maintain a safe, clean and well-resourced pool environment
  • Provide wider pupil support across the school when the pool is closed
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience or willingness to train in pool plant operations
  • Lifeguard qualification 
  • Experience working with SEND pupils (desirable)
  • Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive practice
