Are you looking for the next, exciting step in your career?

Are you passionate about supporting older pupils with SEND and preparing young people for adult life, independence and community participation?

Have you considered working in a Sixth Form within a complex needs school, supporting pupils with high levels of need, including medical needs, sensory differences and behaviours that challenge?

If so, then Churchill Park could be the school for you!

Located in a modern building in Kings Lynn, Churchill Park is an all through, mixed special school, catering for children with complex needs.  We currently have 220 pupils on roll with small classes averaging 10 pupils, supported by a skilled and dedicated team of support staff, matched to the needs of each cohort. Our Sixth Form is off site within the Fairstead Community Center and currently has 13 pupils.

Rated Good by Ofsted (June 2022), we are continuing to develop and strengthen  our Sixth Form provision, which focuses on:

  • Life skills and independence
  • Preparation for adulthood
  • Community access and work-related learning
  • Functional communication and regulation
  • Real-world learning experiences, trips and work experience

We are seeking a confident, flexible and resilient practitioner to join our Sixth Form team and support pupils with complex SEND profiles, including those who are sensory learners and those who may present behaviours that challenge.

Successful candidates will have the ability to:

  • Form strong, positive relationships with older pupils and young people
  • Understand complex individual needs and offer creative, practical and functional learning opportunities
  • Support pupils with high levels of need, including regulation, communication and sensory processing
  • Confidently lead groups and learning activities, including in community and off-site settings
  • Ensure pupils receive the highest quality support to develop independence and life skills

What we offer:

In return for your integrity, passion and sense of fun, we are able to offer you the opportunity to work in a well-resourced school, alongside a  highly committed, skilled and forward-thinking staff team who are  passionate about improving outcomes for young people with complex needs.

We welcome applications from:

  • Teachers with experience in SEND post-16, alternative provision, adult services, or health and social care settings
  • Practitioners currently working in mainstream who are keen to develop their experience in complex needs and post-16 education

We warmly welcome visits to the school, why not call us to arrange a conversation with one of the Senior Leadership Team or to come and see the provision in action.

Churchill Park Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This post will come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations and the successful applicant will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether they are disqualified under these regulations.
