About this Role

Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic technician to join the team at Holsworthy Community College.  We would like these hours split over five school days but we can be flexible for the right candidate.

Holsworthy Community College is a small academy set in rural Devon whose values are based on unity, compassion and friendship. As one of the founding members of the Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust, we live the cooperative values that the Trust holds at its heart.

Our Trust comprises of 19 schools, 3 Colleges, 15 Primaries, and one All Through SEMH Special school. Established in 2018, We are situated in beautiful Devon on the out the outskirts of the stunning Dartmoor National Park. The schools vary in size and are all unique. Our schools are a large part of their local communities, and we value those relationships with families and locals.

Summary of the Role

Technicians play a vital role in the provision of high-quality teaching and learning in schools, from looking after specific equipment to helping staff to ensure that lessons are resourced effectively so that students can achieve their potential.

Working conditions are varied, with some working on their own and others working as part of a team. Technicians take on a wide range of tasks at work.

This role will primarily support the staff and students working in and around the practical subjects in the College. Namely, the Science Department and then possibly the Technology Department. Technicians play a huge role in supporting high quality teaching and learning to occur inside and outside of the classroom environments and are key to students achieving the highest possible sense of achievement.

    The successful candidate will be required to come to DMAT HQ to complete mandatory training.

    Training Details:

    Location: Central Head Office (Wardhayes) 8 Simmons Way, Okehampton, EX20 1PY

    Duration: Monday – Friday

    Purpose: To provide comprehensive training on company policies, procedures, and systems necessary for successful integration into the role.

    Training Schedule: Daily sessions from 9am to 4pm, with breaks provided.
