Thank you for your
interest in working at George Mitchell School. I would like to take this
opportunity to tell you about our unique school and to highlight the
significance of this important appointment.
Why work at George
Mitchell?
Are you committed making a difference to children's learning experiences? Do you want to work in a school that places well-being at its heart? If so, we are the school for you. We are looking for two teachers to join us from September 2026 who understand a holistic approach to teaching and is willing to teach in KS1 or 2. A TLR may also be available for interested candidates who wish to take on an additional level of responsibility.
Our approach includes a strong focus on developing oracy, and learning through play. As a highly inclusive school, we welcome applications from all faith backgrounds. We value and actively support professional development and a willingness to take part in staff training and INSET days is required. You will be joining a supportive team who work hard to ensure that all of the children in our school thrive.
We are a small school with 4 form entry at secondary and 2 form entry at primary. The size of each year group means that staff get to know individual students and their families really well and form excellent relationships. The school has a ‘community’ feel built on excellent relationships between stakeholders.
George Mitchell is within walking distance from Leyton underground and Leyton Midland stations, and also offers onsite parking. We also offer a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme, and a range of benefits including Cycle2Work and free eye tests.
