Outwoods Primary School is a very special place and we are committed to understanding every child as an individual and meeting their needs effectively so that they can ‘Dream Big and Aim High’.

We can offer an incredible team, a warm and nurturing work environment and development opportunities to support your own professional growth.

Our Nursery setting is incredibly important to us.  We have high aspirations for every child and therefore strive to ensure that every second of their journey is magical, memorable and of the highest possible standard; these early foundations that our nursery staff instil are crucial.

Energy, organisation, motivation and creativity would suit this role.  If you exude warmth, compassion and possess a sense of humour this could be the perfect job for you.

We need a Teaching Assistant who:

  • can provide high quality care for our 3-4 year olds, assisting in many aspects of their daily lives through quality social, emotional, educational and practical interaction, nurturing and guidance

  • has a robust knowledge and understanding of child development and the Birth - 5 framework

  • can support the working relationship with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations of speaking, listening, hygiene and manners

  • is adaptable and a team player, who can help to oversee, maintain and organise a clean, tidy, child-friendly environment - leading activities such as creative play, cooking, reading and outdoor/physical activities

  • can promote inclusion and ensure all children are safe, happy, stimulated and communicating

  • can plan, observe, keep records and communicate with parents/carer about their child’s day

  • can meet the personal care needs of pupils, whilst encouraging their independence (including toileting and feeding)

  • is committed to their own professional learning

  • can contribute and support the school's relentless drive to enable limitless possibilities for every child

  • is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people

We can offer you a school with:

  • kind, courteous and eager to learn children

  • a supportive and welcoming team

  • high quality professional support and development opportunities

  • the determination to improve the life chances of the children in our care

  • a positive ethos and vision for our future growth

  • a reflective and driven leadership team who are committed to supporting the team with work/life balance

This position is subject to appropriate vetting procedures including a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions as part of the recruitment process.
