What are we looking for?

Join Ludlow Church of England School as a apprentice Finance Assistant, supporting the school to operate efficiently and enabling the classroom staff to focus on providing the best possible education for our students.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who is keen to develop skills in a finance role.   A willingness to learn and work as part of the team is essential.  You will have good organisational, timekeeping and ICT skills.  You will possess a calm and positive telephone manner.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent numeracy skills and a strong eye for detail. The role includes responsibilities such as processing invoices, maintaining financial ledgers, ensuring best‑value purchasing, and administering lettings, with occasional cash‑handling duties. The successful applicant must also be willing to work towards an appropriate qualification as part of the apprenticeship.

Full details can be found in the Job Description and Person Specification.

What we can offer in exchange:

  •        A busy and enjoyable place to work, where there is a team of friendly colleagues.
  •        Lots of varied responsibilities so you should be excited that every day is different.
  •       The chance to be involved in guiding the life of students aged 11 to 16, on a daily basis, and seeing them flourish.
  •        Enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  •        Access to the Employee Assistance Platform.
  •        Membership of Blue Light Card.
  •        Excellent professional and career development opportunities with an employer that values education and learning.

The Trust and school are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, therefore all shortlisted applicants must be prepared to undergo a number of checks to confirm their suitability to work with children and young people, in accordance with the DfE's "Keeping Children Safe in Education".  An enhanced DBS will be required for this role.  The Trust welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.

Early applications are encouraged as we reserve the right to close the vacancy prior to the advertised closing date.  As part of our Safer Recruitment Policy, CVs will not be accepted.  Only the information detailed on the application form will be used as part of the short-listing process.  Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.
