About this Role

This is a fabulous opportunity for a dedicated and flexible person to join the team at Beechcroft St Paul’s Primary School, part of the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Family Liaison Officer (Safeguarding and Family Support) to join the school’s dedicated and caring team. The role is offered on a fixed term basis to 31st December 2027.

You will work alongside the school’s existing Family Liaison and Attendance Officer to provide holistic support for pupils and families. Whilst the Family Liaison and Attendance Officer leads strategically on attendance and inclusion, this role will focus primarily on day-to-day operational safeguarding, early intervention, pastoral support and family engagement.

You would be required to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm (with an unpaid half an hour lunch break), 43 weeks per year. This would be term time, plus Inset Days, plus 4 weeks during the holidays. Your working pattern during the school holidays would be agreed in advance with the Headteacher based on the needs of the role.

The Family Liaison Officer will focus their work on preventative and early intervention activities, providing support, information and guidance to children and their families attending the school, and investigating concerns raised by parents, pupils and staff. The key to this role is that the needs and voice of the child are foremost.

The successful candidate will also act as one of the school’s Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSLs), supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure safeguarding procedures are effectively implemented and that vulnerable children and families receive appropriate support.

We want our staff to thrive so we offer an extensive range of wellness services and professional learning opportunities to support growth and development. Please visit our website for further details: Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust - Wellness

We value the diversity of our workforce and welcome applications from all.  If you are interested in this position and would like to have a more detailed conversation before making the decision to apply for the post, please give us a call and we will be happy to help you with as much detail as possible to support this process.

When you have enough information to make your decision to apply, please complete all sections of the application form. CVs will not be accepted.

All applicants will be notified of the shortlisting decisions by email. References for shortlisted candidates will be requested before interviews.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All applicants will be subject to a number of checks including the Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed.
