We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate Teaching Assistant to join our academy.

Pilgrim Academy is seeking an experienced, flexible, enthusiastic and positive Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team. This role involves leading small group activities, supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and providing support at lunchtime — all under the direction and supervision of the class teacher. A key part of the role will be supporting pupils to move their own learning forward.

What we’re looking for:

• A highly effective Early Years Teaching Assistant who understands how to build motivating relationships with young children, enabling them to make rapid progress.
• Someone with excellent skills in interacting and communicating with children, ensuring they feel supported, valued and confident in their learning.
• Experience of planning and delivering phonics sessions and working within an Early Years setting.

  • To assist students, including those with SEN, to maximise access to the curriculum,
  • To work under the direction of the teacher in a class based environment using teaching aides and other methods of support
  • To help support and promote the Academy behaviour policy

Whilst experience is not necessary, you must have a good standard of literacy, be adaptable and willing to be involved in all aspects of school life, have a calm manner and be able to work as part of a team.

Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in its academies. In line with our safer recruitment practices and statutory guidance on Keeping Children Safe in Education, all applicants must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Additional pre-employment checks will also be carried out including online/social media check, satisfactory references and any other appropriate checks necessary in order to assess the suitability to work with children
