About the School

High Street Primary Academy is a primary school located in Stonehouse, Plymouth. We currently have approximately 220 pupils on roll from aged 2 to 11.  In July 2023,  OFSTED inspectors rated the school as ‘good’, praising the highly ambitious curriculum, the speed in which children gained the knowledge and skills they need, the support given to children to read confidently.  Inclusion is a strength within the school; all pupils including those with SEND, make good progress. Pupils behaviour is good and we use our bespoke manners curriculum to encourage a warm and friendly ethos.

Our vision is clear: every child matters, every day. Every child at High Street Academy is supported to achieve their full potential - we work tirelessly and collaboratively as a team to offer all children the opportunity to meet their aspirations beyond expectations.  Children enter school each morning excited to begin learning and pupils, staff and parents want High Street Primary to be the best that it can be.

Our vision is clear: challenging academic and personal goals will be set for every member of the High Street Primary Academy community, and we will provide the support and encouragement required to reach them. We will do whatever it takes.

About the Trust

Reach South is a young and developing Trust which operates across the South West of England with the aim of delivering all through 3-19 education.  We operate 16  academies in Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.  We are building this Trust on a clear set of values, behaviours and curriculum principles. At the heart of those values and principles is a belief in our young people and a determination to support them to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become the successful citizens for today and all of their tomorrows.

Our core business is delivering exceptional education for children and young people with a mission to help all pupils aspire to achieve beyond the expectations that others put on them.  We do this through the development of a talented and committed workforce. In order to deliver exceptional opportunities for learning, we need highly motivated staff across all parts of the organisation.

Teachers within Reach South belong to a national community of professionals, and benefit from a wide range of networks and development opportunities across the Trust. In time, our best teachers are able to work across schools, develop specialisms and step up to leadership roles within and beyond their own academy. The Trust provides a strong culture of collaboration and support, together with high expectations for staff and pupils alike.

Those we recruit are able to demonstrate that they share our values, are highly motivated to work with colleagues, within and beyond their school, to continuously develop their skills and pursue professional excellence.
