About this Role

Specialist Outreach Teacher – Larwood School (Brighter Futures Educational Trust)

Location: DSPL1 (Stevenage) & DSPL2 (North Herts)

Contract: Full-time / Permanent

Start Date: Spring term 2026

Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)

Brighter Futures Educational Trust is expanding its highly regarded outreach services delivered through Larwood School. We are seeking a skilled, compassionate and proactive Teacher to join our established team supporting mainstream schools across DSPL1 and DSPL2 (Stevenage, Hitchin, Baldock, Royston and Letchworth).

Since 2017, our outreach team has supported primary schools in Stevenage, providing specialist guidance for pupils presenting with SEMH, ASD and a wide range of diverse needs. As our service grows, we are now extending support to children with EHCPs in mainstream settings, with the potential to broaden the service into Key Stage 3. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a maturing, ambitious outreach model that is making a significant difference to pupils, families and school communities.

About the role

You will:

Provide specialist outreach support to mainstream schools across DSPL1 and DSPL2.

Offer high-quality advice, strategies and modelling of effective practice for pupils with SEMH, ASD and other SEN needs.

Contribute to early intervention work for pupils with EHCPs, offering targeted support and developing strong, positive relationships with SENCos, teachers and school leaders.

Support assessment, planning, reviewing and the development of personalised pathways.

Deliver and develop effective strategies to build staff confidence, capacity and understanding.

Be part of an expanding trust wide outreach model, helping to shape future provision and best practice.

About You

We are looking for a teacher who is:

Experienced in social communication, behaviour support or wider inclusion practice.

Skilled in coaching and modelling practice to adults in mainstream settings.

Flexible and approachable, able to manage a varied caseload and build trusted professional relationships.

Motivated and child centred, committed to making a real, tangible difference for vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils.

Reflective, solution-focused and able to adapt support creatively to meet different school contexts.

Previous outreach experience is beneficial but not essential, your values, attitude and willingness to grow and learn matter most. Comprehensive training and development will be provided.

What We Offer

A supportive and experienced outreach team within Larwood School.

High quality training and upskilling opportunities, including specialist SEMH, ASD and inclusion development at Larwood School.

A robust induction process with structured support to prepare and empower you in the role.

Access to ongoing CPD and professional learning across Brighter Futures Educational Trust.

SEN Allowance, with opportunities for progression across an ambitious and expanding trust.

Collaboration with SENCos, specialist practitioners and multidisciplinary teams, enriching your professional growth.

The opportunity to play a key role in shaping a trust wide outreach model that is improving inclusion and strengthening mainstream school capacity.
